Despite throwing her hat in the ring for the Greatest Baker competition, Marisa Mariella doesn’t consider herself to be the world’s best confectionery creator.

The Stoney Creek resident draws inspiration from Julia Child, who once stated: “The only real stumbling block in cooking is fear of failure. In cooking you’ve got to have a what-the-hell attitude.”
