8 Day & 7 Night

Day 1

Transfer from your place of arrival to the Agriturismo Il Casale, a remodeled farmhouse with over a thousand years of history, conveniently located on the Lago of Posta Fibreno. Check into your modern and upscale room, complete with private bathroom, heat and air conditioning, with beautiful views of the Fibreno river.

Once relaxed, feel free to explore the grounds of the Casale where we will take a relaxing walk around the river and take in the sights and sounds of this peaceful retreat while we prepare a welcome lunch/aperitivo. Then we will show you the program for the next few days and serve dinner in the main building of Il Casale. Following dinner, we will participate in a tasting of carefully selected local liquors such as genziana, liquirizia, ratafia, sambuca, and much more.

Day 2

Following a traditional Italian breakfast at Il Casale, we will prepare for a day of exploration in the nearby town of Arpino. As we take in the views of mountains and olive groves, we will dive into an ancient world where the Emperor Cicero was born; explore the town center with its Roman roads, beautiful churches, and impressive art and architecture.

Sit and relax in the piazza with a refreshing spritz or perk up with a strong espresso. We will continue on to Civitavecchia di Arpino and visit the Acropolis from the 6th/7th century and climb the Torre di Cicerone (Tower of Cicero) to be greeted with extraordinary views of Arpino. Lunch in a typical restaurant. Return to the Casale to relax and prepare for our first cooking class of the week. Today we will learn the traditional art of making pasta. Tonight for dinner, we will enjoy the fruits of our labor and relax at the Casale.

Day 3

Wake up to another beautiful morning at the Casale. This morning we will begin with a traditional Italian breakfast and a light morning exercise in the main garden of the farmhouse (just a little yoga and general exercises to prepare for the beautiful day!).

After breakfast, we will make our way to another beautiful nearby town called Isola del Liri, where you will appreciate a 27-meter waterfall, the only one that can be found in a city center in Italy and most of Europe. After visiting the waterfall, we will tour the Castello Boncompagni-Viscogliosi, an Italian National Monument and one of the best-preserved architectural landmarks in the Province of Frosinone, then return to the Casale for lunch and to prepare for our next cooking class.

This evening we will participate in an experience like no other! A local pizza artisan will teach us the art of making pizza, a staple of Italian cuisine. We will prepare the pizza with a wood-burning oven while listening to Italian music and sipping on some delicious local wines. Relax and overnight in your luxury accommodation at the Casale.

Day 4

(Note: the itinerary for this day takes place on a Thursday and may be substituted with the itinerary of a different day due to the weekly Market which only takes place on Thursdays.)

This morning we will have breakfast in Piazza Santa Restituta in the nearby city of Sora. Enjoy the weekly tradition of the mercato (outdoor market) where you can find clothing, odds and ends, cheeses, fruits, meats, fish, and so much more. We will visit the historical center of “Canceglie” where the actor and Oscar-winning director, Vittorio De Sica was born. We will visit and have a tasting of the famous and traditional Ciambella Sorana at Ciambelleria Alonzi and also taste several local products like the Calascioni, a traditional filled bread typically found during the Easter season.

Day 5

Experience and Cooking Class

Today it’s a surprise! Wear comfortable shoes, as this day will be unforgettable, immersed in nature and breathtaking scenery. After this adventure, we will return to Il Casale for a cooking class and dinner.

Day 6

Wake up to a brand new day with a traditional breakfast at the Casale. We will make our way to the quaint town of Atina, where we will visit the Atina DOC winery. We will tour the grounds of the vineyard with a local winemaker and enjoy a wine tasting as we take in the natural landscape. Following this unique experience, we will make our way to the town of Picinisco for a cheese-making session—this is not just an activity but a real journey into tradition.

Day 7

Breakfast with a river view, a walk in the natural reserve of Posta Fibreno, followed by a typical lunch and a great espresso. Return to the Casale to rest and relax. To celebrate the end of this experience, dinner will be at the Casale where, besides enjoying an incredible meal and wine, you will be entertained with music in traditional Italian fashion.

Day 8

Enjoy your traditional Italian breakfast at the Casale and checkout. Private transfer to Roma Fiumicino Airport. The memories and experience you have enjoyed with us at the Casale will last a lifetime.
