As seen on CHCH Morning Live, Marisa Mariella shares her easy food processor pizza dough recipe that makes the most delicious light, crispy BBQ pizza—without a pizza stone, pizza oven, ...or fancy equipment.

If you've been thinking about buying a pizza oven, try this recipe first! With just your everyday BBQ and a simple food processor pizza dough, you can make authentic, restaurant-quality pizza right at home.

One of the secrets to this dough is that it uses very little yeast, allowing it to rise slowly and develop incredible flavour while creating a crust that's light, crisp, and easier to digest. The food processor does most of the work, making this one of the easiest homemade pizza dough recipes you'll ever make.

In this episode of Marisa's Easy Kitchen, Marisa Mariella will show you:

🍕 How to make pizza dough in a food processor in minutes
🔥 How to grill pizza directly on your BBQ
✔️ Why you don't need a pizza stone or pizza oven
🌿 Tips for achieving a light, crispy, easy-to-digest crust
🎉 How to host the ultimate backyard pizza party with family and friends

Whether you're making Margherita, pepperoni, veggie, or your own favourite combination, this grilled pizza recipe is guaranteed to become a summer favourite.

Pizza Dough
makes 2 large pizzas

½ tsp instant fast-rising yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp sea salt
1 cup very warm water, not hot
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (optional)
2½ cups doppio zero (double zero) flour
½ cup semola flour
extra semola flour for dusting
extra olive oil for bowl and brushing surface

Place all the ingredients in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse about 10 times or until the dough comes together to form a ball. The dough should be lightly tacky, smooth, and pliable. Place in a greased bowl and cover tightly in plastic wrap. Place in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours and up to 3 days. Remove from fridge and let stand an hour.

In the meantime, prepare two long pieces of parchment paper, about 5" X 14" and set aside.

Prepare tomato sauce and toppings of your choice. See below.

Then dust the counter with semola flour and lay out dough. Divide dough in half and then stretch each portion with finger tips to form a rectangle, about 4" by 12". Place each on its separate piece of parchment paper. Brush top surface with a little olive oil.

Preheat grill to 500°F. Clean grates and just before placing dough on grates, lightly grease with a little oil. Flip dough directly on to grates, one portion at a time, remove parchment paper, and close lid. Grill for a few minutes, checking after about 2 minutes to ensure no hot spots on your BBQ. Once lightly golden with sear marks, use tongs to flip over. Reduce heat to about 350°F.

Immediately, add sauce and toppings. Close lid and grill for a few minutes, or until bottom is lightly golden and crisp, and toppings are hot and cheese is bubbly. Remove and let set for a few minutes. Then cut and enjoy.

Pizza Sauce
1 cup pureed or crushed canned unsalted San Marzano tomatoes (or canned Italian plum tomatoes)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper

Toppings
sauteed mushrooms
thinly sliced red onions
thinly sliced prosciutto
fresh basil leaves
grated mozzarella cheese
grilled zucchini and eggplants
cooked rapini and sausage
